First Girl: A Leila Photography Newborn Session

With five older brothers, there was something almost surreal about the news that she was arriving.  Delicate florals, dollies, and accessories in pinks and purples started to arrive.  As reality sunk in, the excitement mounted.   Though mom had experienced fairly difficult births previously, this little girl arrived quickly and calmly in a beautiful home-birth.  Then she met her welcoming committee. Ten brother arms, were eager to hold or touch this little one.  The first girl.  Their first sister. Eden-6412_WEBFor her session, we started with hues of purple.  Monochromatic set-ups are a fun way to play with color and still keep your session baby-focused.  Simple and delicate props, showcased this little one’s sweet expressions, kissable cheeks, and sleepy-goodness.  Eden-6456_WEBThe most important images to capture, of course, were the proud brothers with their new sister.  Each one of these young men are amazing, and their dedication and love for their new sister was off-the-charts. What a joy to capture God’s work of art, as a work of art for their family. With a middle name like Sunrise, it seemed like a perfect fit to throw in some yellow, and it was also just the right compliment for those gorgeous dark eyes. Eden-6674_WEBYour family story is like no other.  Every single baby is precious and unique.  Having the honor of capturing this family’s first girl, was a treasure, indeed. Let’s create wall-art of your own growing family story.

We actually also did a cousin session the very next week with this little lady, who had a cousin born less than a week before her.  So, be on the lookout for that fun session, too.
