Small, Dark and Handsome: Mini-Milestone Session

Oh. my. goodness!  When he locks those dark chocolate eyes on you…it’s all over. He could melt me in a minute with his gorgeous dark hair, eyes and sweet cheeks. For this session, he was actually right at 7 months. Milestone sessions can be flexible and don’t have to be rigidly based on the traditional 3/6/9 plan. Every baby is unique, and capturing them growing is the most important part of a milestone session. ‘Cause, let me tell you…one day you’ll be dropping them off for 5th grade and think, “Didn’t I just bring you home from the hospital, yesterday?” (True story.)

To help plan for his session, I invited mom to post on my Client Inspiration Pinterest board. I was excited to see that she loved simple, natural set-ups. So, I pulled out my recently acquired Backdrop and Floor drop from Ink and Elm.  It was just right to help us focus on this handsome little man.  (And he looked pretty adorable displaying his sitting skills on my new little bed from Coon Creek Unique. )

Daddy was “spotter” (making sure baby’s safety remained priority during the session-new sitters sometimes take spills.) Daddy also got us a few of those hard-to-get smiles, from this serious little guy.

For a mini-milestone, we do a one backdrop set-up. It’s a quick 20 minute session. But, as you can see, it still provides variety and a great little gallery . I am in love with this little guy and his session. Although, it’s a good thing he’s not mine. He’d lock eyes with me, get a little grin on his face, and I’m pretty sure I’d have to give him everything he ever wanted.
