He was a little something to be extra Thankful for, the best gift of the Season. This little guy arrived right before the full swing of Holiday Celebrations. He and momma came to see me at 23 days new. He did so well for his session, and we had a great time documenting his newness.
Based on the Newborn Session Questionnaire, I pulled out some colors/fabrics I thought would work for this little man. When mom arrived, we took a few minutes to discuss those options and make final decisions. By customizing each session to the client and making it a fun experience, clients become part of the creative process.
Mom had indicated that she loved both lifestyle and posed photography. (Which was kind-of awesome, because I do, too!) With some baby-led posing and a more lifestyle approach to family images, we created some great memories that are classic and can bring them smiles for years to come.
What do you want to remember about your newborn? Tiny fingers and toes? The way they move? Their expressions? Just how small they actually were?
I love what a Newborn Session brings to a family. This sequence just makes my momma-heart happy. I’m pretty sure this momma will still be smiling about these when this guy walks out the door for college.
I think the brown set-up ended up being my favorite sequence from the session. Of course I always love those snug-womb-like poses that show the miracle of how they nestled in the womb.Mom brought in some milk and cookies with this Santa outfit, hoping to get a shot she’d seen on Pinterest. We personalized it, and tweaked it to create these fun images. We both enjoyed this set-up a little too much.
As busy, working Baylor Graduate student, dad hadn’t planned on being at the session. He swung by at the end of the session, and while he’d not intended to be in the photos, we coerced him in for a few. In my book, documenting your new family trumps the need for perfection. When this little man looks back on this image, I think he will see what I see, two parents who adored him all the way to-the-moon and back.
I can’t wait to meet all of the new lives and welcome all of the families that will enter the doors in 2018! Let’s get your Maternity or Newborn session on the books now!
