What is Celebration of Smiles?
Celebration of Smiles is a fund-raising event for Operation Smile.
“Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity with a presence in more than 60 countries that provides free life-changing surgery for children and young adults who are suffering from facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate….” More information is available on their website.
Who are you photographing?
Children ages 3 months to teens. Please include your child’s age when you contact me.
How long will the mini-session be?
The mini-session for your child will be 15-20 minutes long. They will be scheduled every 30 minutes to allow for transition time between clients.
When is the event?
The event begins Friday, April 4th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and will continue on the morning of Saturday, April 5th between 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. We are trying to fill at least 10 slots, so that we can provide a surgery for at least one child.
Where is the event?
We will be set up to photograph around the shelter at the base of Jacob’s ladder in Cameron Park. This will provide several options for photographing around the changing light of the evening and morning.
What do I get for my $24 donation?
Your donation, about the price of a meal for your family at a fast-food restaurant, when combined with 9 others, can provide a cleft-palate surgery for a deserving child. With your donation, you will receive a 15-20 mini-session and the gift of a 5×7 portrait print.
What kind of portraits should I expect?
The standard portrait for the Celebration of Smiles event will be the head and shoulders headshot.
Can I order more prints, or other poses from the mini-session?
Definitely! You will receive a gallery link that allows you to view your 3-5 mini-session images. From that gallery, you will make the choice of which print you’d like to receive as your 5×7 gift-print. If you make further purchases, they will be at the current Leila Photography prices. However, 15% of the amount of any further purchases will be donated to Celebration of Smiles.
How do I make my donation?
Great question! Once you have booked your spot, you can make a check out to Leila Photography, or you can click on this link http://leilaphotography.shootproof.com/CelebrationofSmiles. Add the “Celebration of Smiles” image to your cart in the quantity you want, and pay with your debit or credit card. If you choose to pay at the event, please bring cash only. At the conclusion of the event, Leila Photography will make an online payment for the total donation amount to the Celebration of Smiles charity.
Why do I have to pay sales tax on my donation?
Your full $24 donation goes to Celebration of Smiles. However, since a service and product are being provided, we must collect sales tax per state regulations.
I have more than one child, can they all be in a portrait together?
Of course. However, the Celebration of Smiles event is based on 10 smiles providing one new smile. So, if you want more than one child in the portrait, please make a donation accordingly, per individual child. We will then allow an extra slot for your session and make sure to get individual shots and a group shot. You will receive one gift 5×7 for each $24 dollar donation amount. Each donation helps us get one step closer to providing a new smile for a precious child.
