Let’s Share the Joy of Giving!

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at our children’s school.  I love the time and attention that our Educational Organization has put into this week.  Our amazing teachers definitely deserve to feel appreciated!

Today students could bring a picture of a flower they had drawn, a silk or real flower, or small plant to give to to their teacher.

My four year old gets absolutely giddy when he has a gift of some type to give someone else.  He literally bubbles with excitement.  When I handed him the bag that held the little miniature roses for his teacher and tulips for his assistant teacher, he could hardly contain his joy.  He loves to “present” things.  His face was wreathed in smiles.  He bounced into school.  He suppressed giggles.  Oh, how I love his joy.  As I drove away from the school I thought about he embodied  Acts 20:35b “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Likewise, I am a bit bubbly myself about an opportunity that I’m dying to share with you.  You see, WE will have the opportunity to GIVE.  Leila Photography is going to participate in the Celebration of Smiles event.  For a minimum $24 donation you will receive a portrait mini-session and a 5×7 gift print from your session.  If we have 10 people sign up for this event, it will cover the surgery cost for a child’s cleft palate surgery.  You get to give (and I get to give a little something to you.)  Together, we can do something great. Now, do you see why I’m so excited?

The Celebration of Smiles event will be during the morning of April 5, 2014, but if we have enough interest, we will begin sessions on the evening of April 4th.  I will be sharing more information in the near future, but like my 4 year old, I could hardly contain myself.

Since I know some of you aren’t in the Waco, Texas area, don’t despair.  Just click on the link and find a photographer participating in your area.  Eeeek! I love this.  Share the smiles.  Pass this on.

  1. Would like a mini session for me, my brother and my mother-we’ve never really photographed professionally together.
