Testing the New Drop Ceiling Solution by TogDrop

Gary and Elaine Jones are photographers who saw a need in our industry and decided to fill it. Their company, TogDrop, develops innovative and affordable solutions for photographers to address almost any backdrop or lighting need. Their modular bases can hold different mounting systems to meet virtually every unique situation a photographer might encounter. Their solutions offer creative ways to use tiny spaces effectively. or to mount a multi-backdrop “room” with ease (check out their Corner Systems).

When I chatted with Gary and Elaine at the 2025 Imaging USA Conference in February, I took the step to order some of their Solutions for the studio. (I’d learned about their products at a class at Texas School of Professional Photography last April, and had been “stalking” their website and solutions ever since.) After a conversation with Gary, I walked away with 2 magnetic bases and lighting mounts that were chosen to meet my specific needs. While I haven’t installed the metal strips yet, to mount my magnetic bases, I had a new opportunity that I can’t wait to tell you about.

In their Facebook community group, TogDrop announced that they had a brand new solution for drop ceilings and were looking for testers. Since drop ceilings have eliminated other ceiling mounted options, this seemed almost too good to be true. I volunteered to be a tester and was super excited to be chosen. So, check the whole process!

I’m always excited to serve my clients better and to expand the possibilities in creating beautiful portraiture. TogDrop is the answer to safely mounting lights where I couldn’t easily place lights before. I think their Drop Ceiling solution is another WIN for the TogDrop team.

So Photog friends, you need to run-not walk-over to their website and see how their solutions can help you.

If you are a client and would be interested in coming in for a Model Call to play with this additional lighting option, send me an email hsullivan@leilaphotography.com or DM at @waconewbornphotographer.
